Respect Week Announcement- Jeff Moses and Lairn Smay

Unified “Evermore”

Today is the final day of Respect Week 2025! While we know we will continue to learn about different disabilities “evermore,” today we will focus on Kabuki Syndrome. Kabuki Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects many parts of the body including the face, skeleton, brain, and heart. Symptoms can include distinctive facial features, intellectual disability and heart problems although these symptoms can vary in severity and may appear at birth or later in life.

Today's Unified fact of the day is that Respect Week has been celebrated in Illinois for over a decade. Taking the week to acknowledge each other and strengthen friendships helps set us on a path for positivity moving into the spring. Take some time today to reflect on what you have learned, what you want to know more about and how you can make a positive difference in your school and community through the power of inclusion
