Yesterday was definitely a good day for a track meet. Your RJHS track team met or broke 4 school records yesterday. Jaylin Roach and Leah Newton matched the 2010 7th grade high jump record of 4'8 and Jamir Cornell matched the 2010 7th grade high jump record of 5'6.
Leyton Smay, Easton Johnston, Nick Miles, and Will Stevens broke a 41 year old 8th grade 4x200 school record. In 1982, the record was 1:43.3 and now it's 1:42.5. Cornell, Johnston, Stevens, and Mason Orick broke the 2015 8th grade 4x400 school record by 7 seven seconds - an eternity in track speak!
In addition to new school records set, there were lots and lots of personal records set. Athletes, check your emails. Coach Turner sent an email to athletes about the sectional meet on Saturday at North Mac High School in Virden. There will be a short practice today and tomorrow for athletes attending the sectional meet on Saturday.
