  • Mrs. Forsythe

A pirate’s diet in the 1700s was far less glamorous than the swashbuckling feasts imagined in popular culture. Despite the romanticized image of Caribbean pirates, their actual meals were quite grim and practical, dictated by the harsh realities of sea life. Pirates mostly consumed non-perishables, like hardtack (a dry, long-lasting biscuit) and salted meats, which were necessary for long voyages but far from appetizing. They frequently consumed sea turtles and kept livestock like chickens and goats on board for eggs, milk and meat.

But no worries, we got a way more nutritious and tasty meal for you today.

Pirate's Plunder Pasta with Garlic Planks

Jolly Caesar Salad

Congratulations to Mrs. Suze Gibson who was named a 2024 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award winner! Mrs. Gibson is among over 100 teachers from across the St. Louis Metropolitan area receiving this award that celebrates examples of educational excellence. The Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards is one of the area’s most recognized teacher recognition programs.

Today is an RTI/Academic Support Wednesday. Students, if you have met expectations and have a C or better in ALL classes, you may leave at 1:35. Check with your Advisory teacher to make sure you do not have to stay. If you skip Advisory today, you will be turned in for disciplinary consequences.

Students, at this time, your cellphones should be docked in your classrooms and your backpacks in your lockers.

Make it a great day, Shells!
