Twenty three years ago today, Americans across this great nation woke up and began their daily routines. They were little aware at the time that September 11th, 2001 would become a turning point in American History.
23 years ago at 7:46 a.m., Central Time, American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Center’s North Tower.
United Airlines Flight 175, crashed into the World Trade Center’s South Tower at 8:03 a.m.
American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon at 8:37 a.m.
and...
United Airlines Flight 93 was hijacked and headed for Washington D.C. when the passengers fought back and overtook the terrorists aboard the plane. United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania - saving the lives of thousands.
The attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the plane crash in Pennsylvania resulted in the loss of 2,977 lives. At this time I would like to have a moment of silence to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the wake of this tragedy.
Thank you Roxana High School for your time this morning.
Make it a great day, Shells!
