The Zero Hero Celebration will be this today. If you were a 4th quarter Zero Hero last year, this is for you and you will receive your Zero Hero ticket during 2nd hour today. Teachers, those tickets were in your mailbox yesterday. The Kona Ice truck will be here for Zero Heroes during A and B lunch on Friday.
We will be offering an opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 23rd at 8am to any student who would like to take it. The cost is $10, and you can sign up and pay in the guidance office. This test is used as a National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, for students who score very high. It can also be used to practice and prepare for taking the SAT. The deadline to sign up and pay is Friday, September 6th. Checks can be made out to Roxana High School.
Keep in mind, due to the new Illinois contract with ACT, we will be giving the ACT, not the SAT, in the spring to all juniors during the school day. We are no longer offering the SAT at RHS. Students wishing to take the SAT have to sign up to take it on a Saturday at a local testing center. Both ACT and SAT can be used for college entrance purposes. ROX STARS: The following students received recognition as a ROX STAR recently. If you receive a ROX STAR Nomination, please come to the office this morning to pick up a ticket for a free item from the Cafe:
