RHS Back to School Parent Letter for the 2024-25 School Year
Dear RHS Families,
I hope this letter finds you well, enjoying your summer. We are looking forward to our students returning as final preparations are made for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year at RHS.
The first day of school for students will be Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
This will be a half-day (7:50 a.m. - 11:20 a.m.)
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
I want to thank everyone for going through our required registration process online this summer. Your time and commitment are greatly appreciated.
If you have not registered for the upcoming school year, there will be a District Registration day for all grade levels on Monday, July 29, 2024 in the junior high gym from 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

WHAT’S NEW IN 2024
RHS Revisits Policies & Procedures:
Parents, in order to promote a safe and positive experience at RHS, please review our updated Student Handbook for the 2024-2025 school year with your child.
Facility Upgrades Across Campus:
A huge shout out to the hard working custodial and maintenance crews for all their efforts this summer in preparing our campus to open. Many of our classrooms received new tile flooring, fresh paint, new ceiling tiles, & lighting this summer. The gym floors were refinished and locker rooms were upgraded to enhance our student experiences. In addition, the old Family Consumer Science building has been renovated into the newly established Shell Academy.
Shell Academy:
Shell Academy, an innovative educational program designed for students in grades 9-12. As an alternative to traditional schooling, Shell Academy provides a dynamic and flexible learning environment that leverages the power of the Imagine Learning platform. Our mission is to support students in achieving their academic and personal goals through a blend of online instruction tailored to meet individual needs and help students advance toward their graduation goals.

Monday, July 29, 2024 | District Registration and Back to School KickOff: Grades K-8 and RHS grades 9-12 Junior High School Gymnasium 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. |
Wednesday, August 7, 2024 | 9th Grade & New Student Orientation: Springboard to Success 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. All 9th Grade and new students are welcome to attend our in-person Springboard to Success. This program will run from 12:00-3:00 pm and covers important information to help our 9th graders and new students prepare for life at RHS. RHS Student Ambassadors and staff will oversee the program. (9th Grade/New) Parent Meeting: 6:00 p.m. (Auditorium) A Parent Meeting will take place at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium the evening of Wednesday, August 7. The purpose of this meeting is to welcome 9th grade & new parents to RHS and review logistics & pertinent information about the start of school. |
Sunday, August 11, 2024 | All Sports Parent Meeting A Parent Meeting will take place at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium the evening of Sunday, August 11. The purpose of this meeting is to welcome everyone back and cover all athletic policies and procedures. |
Wednesday, August 14, 2024 | First Day of School for Students! (½ Day: 7:50 - 11:20 a.m.) The 2024-25 school year kicks off on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. This will be a half-day for students. The RHS school day will begin at 7:50 am and conclude at 11:15 am. Early Bird classes will not meet on this day. |

Thursday, August 29, 2024 | Meet the Teacher Night RHS Open House 6:00 p.m. All RHS families are cordially invited to attend our Open House to meet their child(ren’s) teachers for the upcoming school year. This event will run from 6:00-7:30 pm on the RHS Campus. |
