Daily Announcements

Good morning Shells! Today is Thursday, April 11th, 2024.

Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a moment of silence.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,

and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Student Council is organizing their annual blood drive on Friday, April 19, 2024. If you are 16 or older you can sign up to donate blood. Did you know that 1 in 7 patients that are hospitalized require a blood transfusion? And that every pint of blood collected saves 3 or more lives? This week you can sign up in Mrs. Gibson’s room. Next week, sign up will be at lunch as well. Your reward for doing a good thing you ask? A $10.00 gift card!

Prom is coming up on May 4th.

Prom Guest Forms are now available in the Main Office. All forms must be completed and turned back into the Main Office by Tuesday, April 30th before 3:30pm. Forms will not be accepted after April 30th.

If you are a student on Social Probation and want to attend Prom, you will need to turn in a contract to Mr. Dandurand or Mr. Miller prior to the deadline.

After Prom Tickets will be on sale during lunch hours in the Commons next week, April 15th-April 18th. Tickets are $20 per person. This is the only time these tickets will be sold, so make sure to get yours!  (Please repeat daily through April 18th)

This is the last week for the Green Schools Fantastic Plastic Contest.  Bring all plastic grocery bags to Ms. Hanneken by the end of the day today.

The Biology II class is holding a plastic water bottle recycling class competition starting today!

Here's how it works.  Each class will have one week to recycle as many plastic water bottles as they can.  Freshman will begin the competition today.  All bottles should be placed in the blue recycling bin outside the main office.  Sophomores collect dates run April 16th through April 22.

The Juniors will begin their collection on April 23 and run through April 29th. And the Seniors will wrap-up the competition from April 30 to May 6th. Biology II students will count the number of plastic bottles for each grade level.  The class with the most bottles, with a minimum of 100 bottles, will be rewarded with an outdoor field day on Thursday, May 9th.  Games will include spike ball, football, wiffle ball, kickball and volleyball.

Good luck to our sophomores taking the PSAT today. The Small Gym will be closed due to testing. Students will need to walk through the Wellness Center to get to locker rooms today.
